Just want to take a moment and draw your attention to this ChristianMingle ad that was playing during the episode of Cheer Perfection I was watching (not ready to talk about that show yet, though.) 

It takes the seminal Contemporary Christian hit (Jars of Clay’s “Love Song”), and makes explicit what made the lyrics of that song novel in the 90’s. The original song had a girl singing to Jesus the words, “I want to fall in love with you.”

In this context for a Christian dating site though, the lady is singing to her new Internet husband-demigod-lord and slow dancing in the kitchen of their pre-fab home and they’re wearing matching outfits and why are my eyes not on fire yet? Maybe both husband and wife-servant are singing it together to Jesus? Maybe they are a throuple. Either way, it’s very romantic and steamy and I need to go cool off with some bonnet-ripping Amish Romance novels.
