Lil Wayne — Comfortable [ft. Babyface]

This comes very close to being a perfect song.

Hahahahaha and it samples Alicia Keys’ “You Don’t Know My Name,” which again, let’s just consider the perennial favorite: that wonderful talkdown bridge.

Do you need some elegant, understated art for your home? How about some Get Caught Reading celebrity posters?

Christine put in a request on my VYou a while ago for a Shania lipdub.  Ever the pleaser, I totally ignored that request and responded with another lipdub:

One of the greatest talkdown bridges of ALL TIME.  The talking part in Alicia Key’s “You Don’t Know My Name.”

I thought about this talkdown again yesterday when it came on in the loudspeakers in Marshalls and I broke into a grin.

Ask me things on VYou, btw.

I made this in response to this.  I don’t have anything against Alicia Keys, I just have an ear for vocal tics.  Does this win the position of Alicia Keys’ Head Blogger?

(This is my first video creation, right?)

“Oh word?  Yeah, that’s interesting.” —Alicia Keys

Undoubtedly my favorite part of the talkdown in “You Don’t Know My Name.”  Clipped for your auditory pleasure, and my future commenting use.

Alicia Keys :: You Don’t Know My Name

Honestly, you had to know: that voice could never last.  It just has a husky weight now that’s not present on this track.  I do miss hearing this song on the radio though, with the full talking interlude included. Also, I do miss Kanye producing things like this.

I’d post the very very excellent video, but right now there’s no HQ version on the Internet right now and I think more of you guys than that.

How are you commemorating Alicia Keys week on iTunes®?  I’m a little rusty on the traditional rituals.  I’m assuming festivities include playing round pianos, shopping at Target, and home-wrecking.
